Another new face in the women’s team

The TTC 46 Weinheim starts on September 5th into the adventure “First Bundesliga”.

Another new face in the women’s team

The preparations for the new table tennis season are in full swing, the team line-ups and the match dates of the first leagues are set, now only the Corona situation has to play along so that the matches can actually take place with the corresponding spectator attendance.
And in Weinheim, a whole new table tennis era is dawning: there has never been a first Bundesliga before, and the interest and anticipation are enormous.
In the women’s competition, the TTC 46 Weinheim team is in for a whole new experience: in the top league, the girls will meet the crème de la crème of German table tennis. With the many-time champion ttc berlin eastside, SV DJK Kolbermoor, TSV 1909 Langstadt and TSV Schwabhausen, the top four of the last round again stand as almost insurmountable hurdles in front of the respective TTC quartet, while ESV Weil, SV Böblingen and TTG Bingen/Münster-Sarsheim are likely to be in the second half of the table.
TTC board member Christian Säger has once again strengthened the team.
Since the international tournaments of the World Table Tennis do not take into account the Bundesliga schedule, the Brazilian top player Bruna Takahashi will not always be available, so that something should be improved up front.
With Caroline Kumahara another Brazilian with Japanese roots joins the TTC 46.
Born in 1995, she can look back on various successes at youth and junior level and a participation in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In 2020, she defeated her compatriot Bruna Takahashi in the semifinals at the Spanish Masters ( can be seen on YouTube under Bruna Takahashi vs Caroline Kumahara | Semifinal – 2020 II Spain Masters – YouTube ).

The 26-year-old was in action for the first time in Europe in the 2020/21 season with Spanish first division club Real Club Tenis de Mesa Linares and Italian club Tennistavolo Norbella. As hobbies, she states spending time with her girlfriends, playing table tennis with her parents and with her dog, as well as wasting time on Instagram.
As personal goals, she is aiming for a place in the top 50 of the world rankings and a gold medal at the Pan American Games. She would like to finish in the top four at the Pan American Championships. She would like to achieve good results with the TTC 46 and contribute to this with her own victories.

Also the American Rachel Sung is still listed on the entry sheet as position two, who will possibly be available again on her European tour in the winter half-year. With Bruna Takahashi, Rachel Sung, Caroline Kumahara, the Belarussian Daria Trigolos, the Belgian Lisa Lung and the three Germans Luisa Säger, Sophia Klee and Jennie Wolf, the TTC 46 Weinheim has a strong team that can meet these demands.

The dates of the matches are fixed. The complete game plan of the ladies is to be seen on the homepage of the TTC 46. It starts with the home play against TTG Bingen/Münster Sarsheim on 5 September. Immediately a firecracker and an important match, to which the TTC 46 invites all fans – as Appetizer the entrance is free!

With the appropriate spectator scenery the first counters are to remain in Weinheim. Of course, everyone hopes that the opening opportunities will not develop negatively until then.
The women’s games of the first Bundesliga may no longer be played in parallel with the men’s games. These will now be played together with the second women’s team, who want to play a good role in the regional league.
The TTC 46 offers season tickets for the 7 home matches of the 1st women’s team, which are also valid for the 10 home matches of the men’s 1 and the women’s 2.
The season ticket can be purchased for 50 euros at info@ttc1946weinheim.de or at the box office. The single entrance costs 6 euro, reduced 3 euro.
