TTC ladies celebrate success against Dachau, suffer a heavy defeat in Weil<\/strong><\/h4>\n

First defeat for the ladies<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The ladies of TTC 46 opened their second half of the season with a hard-fought 6:3 victory over TSV Dachau. They got off to a successful start against the only team to take a point off the Weinheim team in the previous round.
\nThe points were shared in the doubles. While Hsien-Tzu Cheng\/Yuan Wan won easily against Byun\/Ernst, Ece Harac\/Mateja Jeger had to concede to Winter\/Pranjkovic in the deciding set.
\nThe match was also tied after the first singles. \u201cLilly\u201d Cheng is not yet in the form of her Taiwanese teammate \u2018Louis\u2019 Chien and lost to Sabine Winter in four sets. Yuan Wan, on the other hand, came through quite clearly against Korea’s Seoyoung Byun after losing the first round.<\/p>\n

TTC 46’s back four then made the difference. Both Ece Harac against Naomi Pranjkovic and Mateja Jeger against Tin-Tin Ho had to fight hard in the individual sets, but won their matches 3:0 and 3:1 respectively to make it 4:2.
\n\u201cLilly\u201d was also unable to score against Byun, but Yuan Wan added the fifth point to her tally. She quickly led 2:0 against her national team colleague Sabine Winter, but then had to go into the deciding set, which she eventually won 11:9.
\nCoach Rainer Schmidt praised her for the great performance she is currently putting in, as she is physically fit and does not have to deal with travel problems.
\nEce Harac finally sealed the deal when she bagged the sixth point against Tin-Tin Ho in three tight rounds, better than in the previous round in Dachau, when the 5:3 score turned into a 5:5 draw.<\/p>\n

However, the quartet had to learn on Sunday that the trees do not grow into the sky. They suffered a surprising 2:6 defeat at ESV Weil.
\nOnce again, the score was 1:1 after the doubles. Once again, Lilly and Yuan were quickly finished off when they clearly dominated Anna Hursey and Ievgeniija Sozoniuk. And again Ece and Mateja had to agonize over five sets, but ultimately without success.
\nAfter losing the first set against Anna Hursey from Wales, Yuan got into the match and led 2:1, but not much went right after that and the match went to Weil. Lilly was also unable to play to her potential in the South Baden match, resulting in another 3-0 defeat against Sozoniuk.
\nHopes of an equalizer in the back four were not fulfilled, but only partially;
\nEce prevailed against Kornelija Riliskyte 3:1, but Mateja had to accept defeat against Daniela Ortega with the same result.
\nLilly also only managed to win one set against Hursey to make it 1-2, meaning that the fifth point for the home-strong team from South Baden had already been secured.<\/p>\n

Yuan then managed to take a 2:1 lead against Sozoniuk, but then it was the end of the game, with an 11:7 and 11:8 victory for Weil.
\nCoach Rainer Schmidt commented on the defeat with the words \u201cI looked a bit tired\u201d.
\nThe team made the wrong decisions at times and, despite leading by a large margin, did not keep the upper hand in difficult situations, which is something they usually excel at.
\nIt’s not a disaster – it will be enough for the playoff games in any case. And next Sunday, they can make up for the loss at home against Bingen.<\/p>\n
